As an important part of Chinese national culture, ancient poetry carries rich historical value and cultural connotation. Each ancient poem embodies the ancients' profound understanding of nature, society and life, and contains rich philosophy and emotion. Since ancient times, ancient poetry has had a close relationship with music. Ancient literati expressed their emotions and thoughts by chanting poetry and composing music. The rhythm and rhyme of poetry complement each other with the melody of music. This combination not only strengthens the beauty of language, but also makes the artistic conception and emotion of poetry more vivid. In the "Full-time Compulsory Education Art Curriculum Standards" (2022 Edition), it is clearly proposed to develop students' core literacy of "cultural understanding", especially in the junior high school music subject, emphasizing the need to "understand the Chinese aesthetic education spirit and national aesthetic characteristics in Chinese music culture". This requirement points out the direction for the goal of music education, and the teaching of ancient poetry and songs can play an important role in this regard. By learning ancient poetry and songs, students can not only improve their musical literacy and experience the artistic beauty of music, but also feel the profound charm of Chinese culture in the process, thereby enhancing cultural confidence and promoting their all-round development. Therefore, the teaching of ancient poetry and songs not only meets the goal of cultivating students' cultural literacy in the new curriculum standards, but also plays a positive role in enhancing cultural confidence and promoting the inheritance and innovation of Chinese culture.
Based on this, this thesis aims to explore effective methods of teaching ancient poetry and songs through the teaching practice of ancient poetry and songs in junior high school music classes. Starting from literature review and data investigation, combined with teaching practice, this thesis analyzes diversified teaching strategies such as situational teaching activities and "poetry, music and painting" integrated classrooms. Through situational teaching activities, teachers create teaching situations related to ancient poetry, so that students can experience and understand the cultural background and emotional depth of poetry in a real context, which enhances the interactivity and fun of learning. At the same time, the "poetry, music and painting" integrated classroom organically combines music, poetry and painting, providing a multi-sensory learning experience, which not only enriches students' artistic expression, but also stimulates their creativity. This thesis further explores the impact of teachers' teaching strategies, classroom interactions and students' learning effects, pointing out that these teaching methods can promote students' all-round development while helping to optimize teaching content and form and improve the effectiveness of classroom teaching. However, the study also points out the challenges in the implementation process and puts forward corresponding improvement strategies and suggestions.
